Renewing Silvers

If you were (or are) 65 years old, what things would you like to still be able to do?  What about 75?  85?  95?  How about if you lived to 115 years old?  How would you want your life to be?

Is your idea of life at 90 living in a hospice bed watching Oprah while someone has to spoon-feed you Jell-O?  Or is your idea of a healthy, fit 90 year old someone who, if they were accosted by a punk kid at the ATM, would still be physically capable of sending the punk to the floor with a swift hit to the jaw?

What sort of workout program do you think would help someone achieve this goal?  Would running 15 miles per week help?  A little.  Would being able to preacher curl 100lbs help?  Probably not (we’ve yet to find a real life use for preacher curls besides sporting nice “guns” at the beach).

How about, if you’re a 65 year old lady, being able to easily run a quarter mile in less than 3 minutes, jump up on a 12″ box, get up off the ground and squat without pain, pick up 75 lbs without problem, and lift 25 pounds over your head safely?  That’s a small sample of the sort of things we do at Motor City Fitness, and it’s all designed to give you the best possible quality of life.

If you’re still “young”, how about being able to do 100 pullups, pushups, situps, and squats in under 25 minutes?  What if we added a 7 minute mile, being able to lift weight equal to your bodyweight overhead, deadlift twice your weight, and climb a 20’ rope?

Motor City Fitness can help anyone achieve the level of fitness they need to achieve optimal fitness, and maintain it the rest of their life.

Attendance in Renewing Silvers classes begins with a free assessment, followed by three introductory classes in a 1-1 or small group setting. See our “Getting Started” page for more details.
