Her first show was the 1995 Las Vegas Classic, she won the show and was hooked on competing after that.Times New RomanMelissa went on that year to place 3rd in the Tournament Of Champions in Southern California, and after a move to Michigan, won the overall at the Michigan State Championships. She felt she was ready to go on to NPC National shows, which are pro qualifiers. In 1996 she competed in her first national show, the USAs and was thrilled to place in the top 5. She then went on to a top ten finish at the Nationals in New York, and then decided to do one more National show that year. Melissa placed 2nd at the 1996 IFBB North Americans, in Canada, and received her pro card. She was very excited to have done it in one year, and wasted no time in doing her first pro show, it was the 1997 Pro Fitness in Prague, Czech. Melissa was fortunate enough to be able to travel all over the world to compete her first few years, in places like Italy, Norway, Denmark, Canada and of course the United States. She went on to compete in 35 pro fitness shows, including 4 Arnold Classic Fitness Internationals, and 4 Fitness Olympias. After taking a year off due to many injuries resulting from the years of routine practice, Melissa decided to switch to IFBB Pro Figure. She has done 11pro figure shows, so far, including the 2004 and 2005 Figure Olympia, in her home town of Las Vegas. Besides just competing, Melissa also promotes amateur NPC fitness and figure shows. The Melissa Frabbiele Fitness and Figure Classic is held annually in Michigan and has been known as the premier show to do before going to nationals. The show has been done by several athletes that are now IFBB pros. Melissa also does pre contest preparation, getting athletes ready to hit the stage, as well as regular personal training.
